On behalf of the great State of Iowa, I am proud to welcome you to the Iowa Senior Olympics!  Events like the Senior Olympics are a great way for communities to come together and enjoy athletic excellence through friendly competition.  I’m proud that Iowa holds an event where our seniors can showcase their athletic talents and abilities.

Our state is constantly being recognized for its great hospitality, friendliness, and willingness to give.  The Iowa Senior Olympics is largely run by volunteers, which speaks so well of Iowan’s generosity to give their free time.  I salute all of the volunteers for their eagerness to serve.

I have no doubt you will enjoy the great hospitality and sights that West Des Moines has to offer and am sure you will have many fond memories of this year’s competition. I know the hundreds of spectators will share the emotion of personal and team triumphs presented by the athletes, and I wish all the participants the best of luck!

Sincerely,

Chester J. Culver
